|Digital files can be transferred via FTP, or email. See below for helpful hints. Our workflow is PDF, it is the fastest and best way to supply files.
Supply the name and number of someone that can be contacted in the event of a question.
If arriving via email, provide the following information:
Platform (Mac or PC)
Program and version
Name of file(s)
Compressed files should be self-extracting
Provide a folder containing all of the fonts (screen and postscript). Delays may result in production, or we may have to substitute another font. Whenever possible, fonts should be chanaged to outlines or curves to avoid reflow problems.
All digital picture files must be included with the output file.
Colour photos should be changed from RGB to CMYK.
Also, ensure that there isn't a JPEG preview on any images as this will result in the image failing to separate.
Resolutions should be as follows (based upon the picture being used at 100%):
Four colour, duotones and greyscale images: 225 ppi
Line art (bitmap): 1200 ppi
Please note: Digital files saved from the internet are not, as a rule, a high enough resolution for printing.
Colour palettes should contain only the colours used in the file.
The following is a current list of applications supported:
Adobe Acrobat (Note: when supplying PDF files, embed all fonts and distill at proper output resolution)
Files from other programs must be saved in EPS format.
